Once again we did our practicals today. Today we are focusing on ‘acids and metal carbonates’. The results showed us that carbon dioxide was produced. This was shown through our experiments because when we placed a match above the test tube the match lit out. Halfway through the experiments we poured lime water into the test tubes for further investigation s. If any acid came in contact with our skin it can be very dangerous so we had to be very careful and wear safety glasses.

Our test was today. many of the questions were based on Hypothesis, Equipment, Question, Variables and Discussion. A log of what happened was shown and we had to write up our own reports. They had given us the us the names of the person the foot size and also the distance they jumped. The whole report writing test took for about an hour.

Today we received the results for our (Corrosion) practicals. I was surprised because i had forgotten about them. I knew then ails would corrode but not as obvious as the ones in oil. Some nails were normal while others started to rust. I am interested in this experiment and look forward to seeing future changes to the experiment.

today the class were told to complete two experiments within their groups. One was based on combustion and the other on decomposition. We had to burn magnesium and record the results. I found the decomposition experiment a little difficult because we had to re-read the instructions and try to get the desired results. Overall I had enjoyed the lesson of today.

So far, within the group, I’m starting the work. Jordan asked the group to complete some preliminary research but Hamish hasn’t doesn’t any yet. Neither have Jordon or I. So overall, my science PBL project has had a bad start. Hopefully next project can be better.
